What is the NYClothingDrive?

NYClothingDrive is a door-to-door charity clothing drive.
We will come collect your unused clothes, recycle them and donate the proceeds to charity.

When: Saturday February 6th, 2010.

How: Make a donation here to schedule a pick-up.  All proceeds will go to New York Cares.

Who: David Fraga and Eric Friedman with help from the gang at TechiesGiveBack and Wearable Collections.

Why: We’ve had unused stuff in our closet for ages and needed an excuse to finally donate.
We thought you might want the same.

  • This is a great idea. Will you also be providing people with receipts for tax deduction purposes?
  • We will not be providing receipts for tax deduction purposes due to
logistical difficulty in getting this done. It was a consideration but
ultimately not possible due to the nature of how we are collecting. Hope
this is not a deterrent to signing up!
  • That's a shame! Regardless, I still think this is a great idea and wish you guys the best of luck.

I live literally one block from a Salvation Army, so I can't put this off any longer. But, because I live so close to a place that will give a receipt, I can't really justify doing it any other way.
  • Fair enough! So long as your unused clothing makes it to charity, we are happy.
  • Thanks for dropping by!
